By Benjamin Flowers: A social gathering in Red Bank Village, Stann Creek District yesterday took a bloody turn after a fight broke out, leaving a man dead and a minor with multiple stab wounds.
Police say that Bonaficio 21-year-old Bonifacio Lbeoncio Shoh was socializing with several people including a male minor aged 13, and were all said to have been drinking rum. During the gathering, the male minor punched one of the attendees in the face, and Shoh grabbed him around the neck.
The man then pulled a hunter’s knife from his bag, stabbed Shoh to the lower left side of the abdomen, and stabbed the minor to the left side of the jaw, below the stomach area, and left arm.
Shoh was pronounced dead on arrival at the Independence Poly Clinic, and his body was transferred to the Southern Regional Hospital (SRH) for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, the minor was taken to the Independence Poly Clinic for treatment but later transferred to the SRH. His condition is unknown at this time.
Police have since detained the prime suspect and have recovered a knife with a 6 1/2 inch blade, believed to be the murder weapon.
The detainee has not been officially charged with any offense, as such, his name is being withheld.
