El Salvador blank Honduras 2-0 in UNCAF U-19 Football Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: El Salvador defeated Honduras 2-0 in their first encounter of the UNCAF U19 FIFA FORWARD Central American Championship being held in Belmopan.

Playing at the FFB Stadium, Harold Osorio opened the score in the 11th minute for the El Salvador U19 National Team called La Azulita by Salvadorans. Thereafter it was a very even game for the next 84 minutes. When it seemed the game was going to finish 1-0, in the 90’+5, Alexis Benítez nailed the Honduras keeper for the final 2-0 in favour of El Salvador.

El Salvador now lead Group A with three points. Belize and Nicaragua follow with one point apiece after their 2-2 draw. Honduras don’t have any points yet.

On Tuesday at 4:15 pm Honduras play Nicaragua while Belize close against El Salvador at 7:00pm.

On Thursday at 4:15 pm El Salvador play Nicaragua while Belize close against Honduras at 7:00pm
