Guatemala beat Puerto Rico 3-1 in UNCAF U-19 Football Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Guatemala downed Puerto Rico 3-1 on Sunday in their first game of the UNCAF U19 FIFA FORWARD Central American Championship being held in Belmopan.

Guatemala’s goals at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium goals came through the efforts of Mathius Gaitán, Jefry Bantes, and Rudy Muñoz.

Ian Silva scored Puerto Rico’s only goal.

Guatemala now lead Group B with three points. Panama and Costa Rica, who played to a scoreless draw earlier, have one point each. Puerto Rico don’t have any.

Guatemala will play Costa Rica on Tuesday and Panama on Thursday. For their part, Puerto Rico will face Panama on Tuesday and Costa Rica on Thursday.
