Three injured in Sunday night shooting in Belize City

By Benjamin Flowers: Three people were shot in Belize City last night.

Reports are that around 8:30 p.m., 60-year-old Steven Hope, 34-year-old Carmen Canelo, and 31-year-old Michael Usher, were standing on Handy Side Street at the entrance of an alley when two men on a motorcycle rode up to them and opened fire.

The trio was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Canelo and Hope were hit to the body and have both been admitted in stable condition. Meanwhile, Usher was grazed to the elbow, and refused medical treatment.

Police have gathered several expended shells from the scene as a part of an ongoing investigation.
