Panama draw 3-3 with Puerto Rico in UNCAF U-19 Football Championship

Panama were held to a 3-3 draw by Puerto Rico in a high intensity game in the UNCAF U19 FIFA FORWARD Central American Championship on Tuesday.

Puerto Rico scored two early goals in the 9th and 12th minutes and had Panama on their knees at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.

However, Panama bounced back and turned things around with goals from Rafael Mosquera (45’), Rodolfo Vega (71’), and Edward Cedeño 83’.

But Puerto Rico were not to be denied and tied the game immediately in the 85th for the final 3-3.

With the draw, Panama now have two points while Puerto Rico have one.

Group B leaders Guatemala play Costa Rica on Tuesday night at 7:00 at the Isidoro Beaton in Belmopan.

Guatemala lead the group with three points from their 3-1 win over Puerto Rico on Sunday. Costa Rica have one point from their scoreless draw with Panama on Sunday as well.

Group action closes on Thursday when Costa Rica face Puerto Rico and Panama challenge Guatemala.
