Posted: Tuesday, April 26, 2022. 3:31 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, members of the Carnival Association of Belize gathered at the Belize City House of Culture to announce the highly-anticipated return of Carnival.

After two years of being canceled due to COVID-19, the association has announced that Carnival Day 2022 will be on September 3.

Minister of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology Francis Fonseca met with the association today, along with Merilyn Young, President of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) to congratulate the association, meet with the heads of mass bands and give a donation to help kickstart the festivities.

This year’s Carnival is being celebrated under the theme “We outside! We back pon di road!”
