Six-year-old girl accuses uncle of rape

By Aaron Humes: Police have arrested and charged a 45-year-old man of Belize City for assault of a child by penetration.

The complainant is a six-year-old girl who reported to police, in the company of her mother, that on April 11 the accused, her uncle, took her to a bedroom and touched her inappropriately.

A medical examination was conducted on the minor, and at its conclusion, the medical officer certified that the minor was carnally known and classified the injury as grievous harm.
