Belize Weather: Wet day ahead, but conditions expected to improve

Weather conditions will stabilize in the coming hours according to the National Meteorological Service.

The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy skies at times today with a few showers, light rain and isolated thunderstorms mainly over the coast this morning. The activity shifts mostly inland this afternoon, then tonight skies will be cloudy in spells with a few showers or thunderstorms over southern and some coastal areas.

High temperatures today peak at 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 90 degrees over inland areas and 75 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will reach 78 degrees along the coast; 70 degrees inland and 64 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The sea will be light chop with waves of two to four feet.

Tides will be high at 8:28 this morning and 9:10 this evening and low at 3 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:12 this evening and rises at 5:28 Friday morning.

Friday will see partly cloudy skies, and generally isolated showers, but also a chance for an isolated thunderstorm developing inland or in the south.
