Costa Rica play Puerto Rico on Thursday in Belmopan in the U19 Central American Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Costa Rica battle Puerto Rico in their final Group A encounter on Thursday at 4:15 at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan in the UNCAF U19 FIFA FORWARD Central American Championship.

In this group, Guatemala, who lead with four points, have the upper hand in today’s games, but both Costa Rica and their rivals tonight Panama can top the group should the numbers turn out in their favour.

With a victory over Puerto Rico, Costa Rica would total five points and they could take the top spot if Guatemala don’t win. If there is a draw in points, goal differential will determine the group winner.

There are no semifinals in this competition, so all teams are aiming to win the group to play for the championship. However, it is a ranking tournament so all teams play their final games on Saturday: 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 3vs 3, and 4 vs 4.
