By Benjamin Flowers: A rainy day such as today is evidence enough that communities in Lord’s Bank are plagued by flooding, and the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing has decided to give some much-needed assistance to the villagers there.
This week the MIDH dispatched crews to Lord’s Bank to assist with the flooding by cleaning streets, as well as clearing and shaping drains.
“There’s a lot more work to do but residents can rest assured that we won’t stop till we get it all done,” the Ministry assured Lord’s Bank residents.
The works in Lord’s Bank form a part of a number of projects that the MIDH is carrying out within the Belize District.
Teams have also been dispatched in Belize City in areas such as Belama and Lake Independence to assist the Belize Council with repairing streets, with an overall goal of increasing the quality of life in these areas.
