By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Resilient Rural Belize and the Department of Cooperatives and Extension Services in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE), organized and coordinated an exchange visit for two farmer groups from the Corozal District to the Cayo District.
MAFSE said farmers from the Northern Sustainable Agro Producers Group of Xaibe Village and Concepcion Farmers Group of Concepcion Village visited the Maya Green Growers Co-operative and SAYAB Farmers Group, in San Antonio Village, Cayo.
MAFSE said the objective of the exchange visits was for “the farmer enterprises to exchange experiences and discuss best practices; facilitate introspective review of organization development and administration; opening communication, coordination, collaboration, and partnership channels; and stimulate discussion on gap analysis.”
The Corozal farmers also visited Lower Barton Creek and Central Farm.
