Driver dead and three passengers injured in roll-over accident on Boom-Scotland Road

By Aaron Humes: A 23-year-old is dead and three other young people including a minor are hospitalized following a roll-over single-vehicle accident early this morning on the Burrell Boom-Scotland Halfmoon Road in rural Belize District.

Sergio Eck, 23, according to police reports, was driving a blue four-door Nissan Altima from the Butter Cup Estate outside Burrell Boom to Scotland Halfmoon where he was from when he lost control and the vehicle flipped over several times, eventually landing in the bush on the right side of the road. He died on the scene.

Injured are 25-year-old Roshane Flowers; 22-year-old Kia Flowers and 16-year-old Karrie Flowers. The first two are from Burrell Boom while Karrie is from Scotland Halfmoon. The injured persons were all transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical treatment. Whilst the body of Eck was transported to the morgue.

Police are investigating.
