Nineteen-year-old shot dead while on his way to buy food

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating another murder overnight in Belize City in which a teenager was apparently killed on Giles Street.

According to a police report, 19-year-old Erwin Pitter of a Lake Independence address went to purchase food on McKenzie Lane around 10 p.m. Monday. While walking on Giles Street he was shot at by someone from a white vehicle and left for dead on the street.

Police continue their investigations as the body of Erwin Pitter now lies at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital morgue awaiting a post-mortem examination.
