By Benjamin Flowers: Today, the Belize Police Department made another in a series of arrests in an ongoing crackdown on gang activity, and the department says that other gang members need to take heed.
Police said that 28-year-old Belize City resident Steve Martin Moss was formally arrested and charged with the offense of “being the member of a gang.”
Moss stands accused of being a member of the South Side Gang (SSG).
At a press briefing earlier today, Head of Communications for the Office of the Commissioner of Police ASP Fitzroy Yearwood said the gang affiliation arrest will not stop.
“If you are a member of a gang you must be prepared that someday we will be knocking at your door,” Yearwood said.
Police also arrested 20-year-old Punta Gorda resident Patrick Luis O’Brien Jr, yesterday for the same offense.
O’Brien is accused of being a member of the Cemetery Crips Gang.
