Tyrone Anthony wins GONZ Racing Club May 1st Cross Country Cycling Race

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Santino’s Tyrone Anthony rode in alone to win the GONZ Racing Club May 1st Cross Country Cycling Race on Sunday, May 1.

The 73-mile race started in San Ignacio at 9:00 am and finished by Leslie Imports in Belize City.

Windell Williams captured second place riding in alone behind Anthony. Edmond Camal was third, Barney Brown rode in fourth, and Tyrin Tasher was fifth.

Gilroy Lewis was sixth.

The only woman in the race, Alicia Thompson finished seventh overall and was the winner of the B Category.

Grevel Young was eighth, Athlee Lozano ninth, and Warren Coye rounded off the top ten.

In the B Category, Michael Lewis (12th) was second, Barrington Young (20th) was third, Mark Reid (21st) was fourth and Manuel Esquiliano (22nd) was fifth.

Team Santino’s won five of the top 10 places with Anthony – 1st, Camal – 3rd, Tasher – 5th, Young – 8th, and Warren Coye – 10th.
