By Aaron Humes: There has been a net increase in the number of active COVID-19 cases countrywide according to data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
Over the weekend, 38 new cases were reported; a further 26 were reported today, Tuesday. The weekend saw 36 persons recover and today another 14 for totals of 64 and 50, a net increase of 14.
There are now 149 active cases countrywide with 95 samples under investigation.
Hospitalizations are down to three (two persons fully vaccinated and one of uncertain status) and Belize continues death-free for the moment.
Tuesday’s new cases were reported in Belize City (ten); Corozal Town (four); Belmopan (three); Spanish Lookout (two); San Ignacio Town; and the villages of Bermudian Landing, Burrell Boom, Lemonal, Ladyville and Western Paradise, Belize District and San Antonio in the Toledo District.
