By Aaron Humes: UDP Leader Moses “Shyne” Barrow says Belizeans voted for better and have gotten the “Blukut.”
There have been all kinds of pain – at the gas pump, grocery stores, and elsewhere – and the government, Barrow said, has responded callously, but it is a pattern of behavior that is established and ingrained, he said.
Returning to the issue of the plant importation, Barrow claims the CEO had no authority to send the forest officer on administrative leave as he has no prior violations; at most he should have gotten a warning.
And regarding the forthcoming Village Council Elections, Barrow said those in the villages are in agreement that the “tsunami” of the administration’s poor decisions has washed away our collective standard of living.
On crime, Barrow said he has tried not to politicize the search for solutions but like the rest of the administration, Kareem Musa, he said, has effectively barred criticism of his efforts – but the results, he charged, are frightening, and merit Musa resigning and perhaps concentrating on the legalization of marijuana agenda.
