Michael Peyrefitte speaks out on citizen security and Ministerial inteference

If the shoe was on the other foot, the reaction would have been far different, but Peyrefitte quoted Julius Espat, speaking in February, citing the “collective responsibility” of Cabinet as a fetter on his right to speak that does not exist in Opposition.

Peyrefitte noted that in the Microsoft 365 case, the Minister of State was cited as the final authority on contracts, but the Minister of Finance is directly in charge per the Prime Minister’s own dictum.

There are still answers needed as to other issues including the departure of Manuel Vasquez as Central Bank governor and the Blue Bond $15 million appropriation.
