Police make third gang affiliation arrest this week

By BBN Staff: The Belize Police department has arrested its third person this week on charges of gang affiliation.

Today, officers arrested and charged 28-year-old Belize City resident Kevin Alvarez for the offense of “Being a member of a gang.”

Alvarez is accused of being a member of the Supal Street Bloods/4th Genna Gang, which has seen several alleged members arrested in the past few weeks.

Police also arrested 20-year-old Punta Gorda resident Patrick Luis O’ Brien on Monday, and Belize City resident Steve Martin Moss was arrested on Tuesday, both for the same offense.

Police say that they will continue the aggressive push against gang activity, which began back in February, and warned all gang affiliates that at any time offices could be coming to charge them.
