By Rubén Morales Iglesias: If you’re driving on the Philip Goldson, Boom Road, and the George Price Highway, do exercise caution as long and heavy bridge beams are being transported from Ladyville to Caracol Road.

“The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing, NARCO Engineering Consultants, Belize Roadway Construction, and M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd. inform the public that extremely long and heavy bridge beams will be transported from Ladyville to Oak Burn Bridge,” said a Government of Belize Press Office press release.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) said the transportation will take place on Friday, May 6; Saturday, May 7; and Monday, May 9, 2022

The MIDH said the beams will be transported via the Philip Goldson Highway, the Boom Road, then the George Price Highway, and the Caracol Road.

“Drivers along the route are advised to take extreme caution, be vigilant and follow traffic signals and instructions of escorts when approaching the transported beams, as they might take up the entire width of the highways,” said the MIDH.

The MIDH said that they and their contractors “appreciate the public’s kind cooperation in respecting and abiding by these safety rules and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause”.
