By Aaron Humes: Police have served notice of intended prosecution on Derwin Maibith, a security guard who was accidentally rear-ended by a colleague as they traveled up to Ladyville on Thursday night.
According to police reports, Maibith and his colleague 39-year-old Sidion Solano were riding separate motorcycles at Mile 4 on the Philip Goldson Highway when Solano’s red Lifan motorcycle collided with the back of Maibith’s black Lifan motorcycle, which caused him to lose control.
Solano suffered a massive injury to the head after being flung headfirst into a lamppost and was pronounced dead at the scene. Maibith was treated and released for bodily injury at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
Police investigations continue.
