UDP Party Leader sends message to Village Council candidates ahead of election

By Benjamin Flowers: As Belize gears up for Village Council Elections, United Democratic Party (UDP) Leader Moses Shyne Barrow, has issued a statement to his candidates, emphasizing the importance of those elections to the party.

Barrow took to his official Facebook page, charging his candidates to take actions that are led by a desire to serve.

“Our desire for better must be matched by action to bring about that betterment in our communities,” Barrow said. “Offering ourselves as candidates is one of the greatest actions to bring about betterment.”

Barrow also told the electorate that the Village Council Elections are a means of voicing whatever frustrations they have with the incumbent People’s United Party by voting against them. He stressed that voting should be their form of protest.

Village Council Elections are scheduled for May 15.
