Belize City man charged for allegedly threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail tonight, after being charged with threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Twenty-five-year-old Lionel Baezar appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today where he was read a single charge of “threat of death.”

In court, he pleaded not guilty to the charge but noted to the Magistrate that the complainant had lied to him by telling him she was pregnant with his child when she was not.

There was no objection to bail and it was granted to him in the sum of $4,000 plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet.

He is due back in court on July 11.
