By Benjamin Flowers: After a brief hiatus from the political world, disgraced former United Democratic Party (UDP) Leader Patrick Faber has returned to take a jab at current leader Moses “Shyne” Barrow, condemning his leadership.
Faber took to Facebook, sharing a video voiced by UDP stalwart Delroy Cuthkelvin, which condemned Barrow for purging positions of influence in the party of Faber loyalists.
Faber captioned his post “This man is wrong for our party and wrong for Belize.”
Following allegations of domestic abuse, Faber resigned from his posts as Party Leader and Leader of the Opposition back in January and had largely kept from making any public political commentary since the incident.
Initially, Faber had tried to remain Party Leader until his successor was chosen at a national leadership convention, however, the UDP’s National Party Council would later vote to accept his resignation as of January 31, as was indicated in the recorded message announcing his resignation.
Faber remains a member of parliament, as the duly elected area representative for the Collet constituency.
