By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out of bail after being charged with five offences following an altercation he had with police officers.
Denroy Anthony Lopez, 40, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today, where he was charged with one count of aggravated assault upon PC, Raveed Ayala, two counts of assaulting a police officer, PC#267 Khalil Jenkins, and Cpl. #1187, Roby Magana. Lopez was additionally charged with one count of resisting arrest upon PC#1441, Raveed Ayala, and threatening words upon PC Ayala. The incident reportedly happened on May 7.
In court Lopez, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same.
He is due back in court on July 8, 2022.
