By BBN Staff: The week, Wilmer Escobar, who was convicted of the brutal 2018 double-muder of 20-year-old Cresencia Oh and 18-year-old Josephine Oh received his sentence at the southern Supreme Court.

On Wednesday, Justice Antionette Moore sentenced Escobar to 35 years in prison for each victim, to run concurrently, meaning he will only spend a total of 35 years. However, his sentence came without the possibility of parole.

Іn Јаnuаrу 2018, thе brutаlіzеd аnd раrtіаllу nudе bоdіеѕ оf the Oh ѕіѕtеrѕ wеrе fоund оn а rоаd іn Ѕаn Аntоnіо Vіllаgе, Тоlеdо Dіѕtrісt. They were last seen walking home from a Church service when Escobar attacked the sisters, chopping them to the head. The motive of this gruesome murder remains unclear, as the sisters were strangers to Escobar.

During the trial, the prosecution called 21 witnesses and tendered a confession statement that Escobar had given saying that he did kill the sisters and that he raped one of them. Escobar said in court that police tortured him into giving that confession and that the torture was committed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace; however, the JP has denied those allegations.

He was found guilty of murder in a trial without Jury on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
