By BBN Staff: The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), following a reported bomb threat this morning, issued a statement on Facebook thanking its patients and staff for their support, dedication, and patience amid a dramatic and unprecedented bomb scare.

After the call was made, KHMH staff rushed to evacuate patients to the parking area and nearby Lion’s Den. “Safety comes first as we take care of you,” the KHMH said.

“Our response to adversity shows our resilience and empathy for our patients,” the institution said in its statement, adding: “This is not the ideal situation and we will not comment on the character of the individual that did this.”

The KHMH praised its team for their “awesome response” to the threat.

The matter is currently under investigation.

When situations like this happen, the BDF Bomb Squad is called in and until they have gone through the entire premises and ascertained that there is no bomb, then everyone is allowed back in. That could take a while. If no bomb is found, then it’s a bomb hoax, but until that is determined it remains a threat.
