By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Sagitun GIRLZ are the new leaders of the National Amateur Women’s League A.

Their 4-3 win over the Verdes Rebels Girls coupled with Jewel Fury’s 1-0 triumph over previous leaders Rumberas propelled them to the top spot. The Sagitun GIRLZ now have nine points from three wins and a loss. They are led by Karisha Coe and Zulma Ortega who have scored three goals each.

The 1-0 win over Rumberas also sent defending champions Jewel Fury over Rumberas on goal differential to the second spot. Both now have seven points from two wins, a draw, and a loss, but Jewel Fury has the edge on goals since they have scored eight and allowed three for a +5. Rumberas, for their part, has scored five goals and allowed one for a +4 differential.

The San Pedro Pirates are in fourth place with four points from a win, a draw, and two losses.

The Verdes Rebel Girls are in last place with a solitary point gained from a draw and three losses.
