By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Leaders Bay City host Wagiya SC United at 3:00 pm at the Santiago Ricalde Stadium in Corozal Town on Sunday in the National Amateur Women’s League (NAWL) B.
Bay City come into this game as the clear favorites having won all their four games and leading the NAWL B with 12 points. Wagiya are stronger than the Corozal United Warriors so don’t expect anywhere near the 16-0 pounding of the Corozal United Warriors, However, do expect NAWL B lead scorer Anahie Blanco (12), Alisha Terry (5), and/or Kaite Jones (5) to be in the thick of things.
But Wagiya is no rollover team. They mean to give Bay City a run for their money. Right now, Wagiya is in third place with six points and is intent on improving on that.
The next match in the NAWL B features fourth place Corozal United Warriors and fifth place Santa Elena Strikers on Saturday at the Ricalde Stadium as well.
The match is set for 3:00 pm.
This is an opportunity for either team to earn a point and score their first goal. So far neither have been able to register a point in four games but the Warriors have a greater goal differential.
Second place team, the Cayo Dreamers, rest this weekend.
