A legendary collaboration- Calypso Rose, the Garifuna Collective, and world-famous guitarist Carlos Santana to cover Andy Palacio’s Watina

By Benjamin Flowers: “Watina” was the name of the final album made by the late music icon Andy Palacio before he passed in 2008. Now, music legends Calypso Rose, the Garifuna Collective, and Grammy-award-winning Guitarist Carlos Santana, have come together to do a cover of “Watina” the title track for Palacio’s 2007 album.

Calypso Rose took to her Facebook page to announce that the cover for Watina, will be released tomorrow.

“So blessed Carlos Santana & The Garifuna Collective joined me on this track so important for the history of my people. ‘Watina’ will be out on May 19th, ready to spread the message?” Calypso Rose said in the post.

Palacio’s ‘Watina’ album ranks first on Amazon’s 100 Greatest World Music Albums of All Time.
