By BBN Staff: When 24-four-year-old Randy Chambers was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday, he said that the complainant, his partner, was on her way to withdraw the charges; however, she never showed and the arraignment proceeded.
Chambers, who was charged with one count of common assault upon his partner, and another count of common assault upon his one-year-old daughter, pleaded not guilty to both charges.
He was granted bail in the sum of $800 plus one surety of the same and is due back in court on July 15.
The complainant reported to police that she told Chambers she needed to go to the store to buy milk for their baby when he began yelling at her. She further said that she took the child with her to the shop but saw a bus coming and motioned to the driver to pick her up.
When she tried to board the bus, she alleges that Chambers came and grabbed their child from her, then grabbed her by the arm and dragged her home.
