By Aaron Humes: 117 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, with an increase to 709 active cases according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness. A further 255 samples are under investigation.
Eight persons remain hospitalized and no new deaths were reported today.
53 of the new cases were reported in Belize City of a total of 67 across the Belize District mainland, with a further nine in San Pedro Town.
Cayo District added 11 new cases including three in Belmopan and two in Cotton Tree.
The northern districts saw 15 new cases, including seven between Corozal and Orange Walk Towns, while in the south the same number was added including four more in Placencia and two more in Punta Gorda.
