Unlucky victim or criminal mastermind? Jasmine Hartin accuses bodyguard of rape while she is a suspect in a conspiracy to put a hit on ComPol Chester Williams

Posted: Thursday, May 19, 2022. 6:22 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Jasmine Hartin is back in the news this week, this time as the alleged victim of an attempted rape during the burglary of her Caye Caulker home and as a suspect in an alleged conspiracy to carry out a hit on the Commissioner of Police and an unnamed Magistrate.

Hartin alleges that her security guard 37-year-old Lionel Neal was the perpetrator of the crime.

Neal was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this morning answering to two criminal charges, one count of burglary with the intent to rape and one count of threatening words.

In court, Neal, who said he was living at the same house as Hartin, claimed that they were lovers and that she fabricated the burglary and rape charges after an argument they had. He claims he threatened to disclose information to police commissioner Chester Williams relating to the shooting death of Police Superintendent Henry Jemott, which Hartin is accused of.

Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser granted Neal bail in the sum of $2,500 plus one surety of the same which he was able to meet by 2:00 this afternoon. Neal’s next court date is set for July 19, 2022.

In an interview with Channel 7 this week, Hartin accused Neal of fabricating a story about her hiring criminal figures to kill Commissioner Williams. And while she vehemently denies those claims, Hartin said that she will not go into any police station to answer any questions about it without her lawyer.

So while police are currently looking for her in connection with that report, she has yet to be found.
