Jewel Fury continue their winning streak, dump San Pedro Pirates 3-0

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Jewel Fury won their fourth consecutive match as they dumped the San Pedro Pirates 3-0 at the Ambergris Stadium in the National Amateur Women’s League in San Pedro on Saturday.

After their boat ride from Belize City to San Pedro, Jewel Fury hit the ground running as Jesselle Conorquie converted the game opener in the fourth minute. Fatima Romero then made it 2-0 two minutes later in the sixth. Khalydia Velasquez sealed the 3-0 win in the 45th with her sixth goal of the season.

The second half was quite even, but Fury’s first-half goals were more than enough to gain the three points.

Fury now lead the NAWL A with a total of 13 points from four wins, a draw, and a loss.

The Pirates remain in the fourth spot with seven points from two wins, a draw, and three losses.
