Sagitun GIRLZ, Rumberas draw 1-1 in NAWL A

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Sagitun GIRLZ drew 1-1 with national subchampions Rumberas at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence/Mango Creek on Saturday in the National Amateur Women’s League (NAWL) A.

Jurshia Zuniga shocked Rumberas by scoring in the very first minute of action to put up the home-standing Sagitun GIRLZ 1-0.

The score remained like that until injury time when Rumberas tied the match on a goal by Shendra Casimiro to finish 1-1.

The draw keeps the Sagitun GIRLZ in second place with 10 points from six games. They trail leaders Jewel Fury who now total 13 points after blanking the San Pedro Pirates 3-0 on Saturday as well.

Rumberas are third with eight points from five games.
