By Benjamin Flowers: The United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has named Belize one of several countries where travelers have a high risk of contracting COVID-19, CNN reports.
The CDC recently updated its risk level lists, moving four countries from Level 2, which implies a moderate risk of infection, to Level 3, which implies a high risk of infection.
The list included The Bahamas, Belize, Eswatini, and Montserrat, along with St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Other Level3 countries include: France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
The risk classifications were recently amended, so that Level 4, which was previously the highest risk level, would be reserved for special circumstances, which include extremely high case counts, the emergence of a new variant of the virus of concern, or the collapse of health care infrastructure.
