By BBN Staff: A 66-year-old resident of Grace Bank Village, Belize District, has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison over bullets that he had no license to keep.
Eric Arnold appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday where he was charged with a single count of keeping unlicensed ammunition, with respect to seventeen live .9mm rounds found in his home during a police search on Thursday, May 19.
Arnold pleaded not guilty to the charge but due to the nature of the offense, he could not be offered bail at the Magistrate level.
The court informed him that he could apply for bail, with the assistance of an attorney, at the Supreme Court as early as this Friday, May 27.
He is due back in court on July 25.
