Santana villager accused of disposing of stolen wood carvings

By BBN Staff: David James Tillett, 33, wood carver of Santana village, Belize District, has been charged with handling stolen goods.

He is accused of attempting to assist with the disposal of two wooden carvings of turtles valued at $40 which were allegedly stolen from one Allan Edgar Jones, in April at Lucky Strike Village, Belize District.

Tillett pleaded not guilty before Magistrate, Sashawna Thompson and was offered bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same amount which he met.

Tillett’s next court date is set for July 22, 2022.
