Tyrin Tasher, Philip Burns, Santino Castillo win Santino’s Double Cien Cycling Races

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Tyrin Tasher won the A Category in the Santino’s Double Cien Cycling Races over the weekend. Philip Burns won the B Category while Santino Castillo himself won the C Category.

Both stages were 100 (cien) kilometers or 62.5 miles. Stage 1 on Saturday went from Old Belize on the George Price Highway to Jaguar Paw and back.

Stage 2 on Sunday started across the road from the Save U Plaza by the Bus Stop beside Pallotti High School on the Philip Goldson Highway, turned left into the Burrell Boom Road, came out by Hattieville into the George Price Highway, turned at the Western Paradise Mile 8 Roundabout and returned to finish at the Save U Plaza.

Tasher finished first in Stage 1 gaining 12 points and third in Stage 2 getting nine points for a combined total of 21 points. Edmund Camal was second after finishing third in the A Category on Day One and second on Day 2.

Sydney Belizaire who won the second stage totaled 15 overall points and took third place.

Atlee Lozano was fourth with 14 points while Sherwin Roca was fifth with 13 points.

Philip Burns won the B Category by totaling 19 points. Burns finished second in Stage One behind Kent ‘Bob’ Gabourel and third in Stage two behind Mexican David Interian and Roque Matus who were 1st and 2nd respectively.

Overall, in the B Category, Sherman Thomas was second with 17 points and Interian was third with 16 points. Interian was the B Category winner in Stage 2.

Santino Castillo won the C Category after winning Stage 2 and finishing second on Day 1.

Isaiah Willacey also totaled 22 points for second place. He was first in Stage 1 and second in Stage 2. Barrington ‘Bummer’ Young was third with 18 points and Amir Gonzalez fourth with 15.
