11 dead, 5 injured in shooting in Guanajuato, Mexico

By Zoila Palma Gonzales: Eleven people are dead and five more injured following a shooting that occurred last night in Celaya, Guanajuato.

The BBC reported that there were several shooting incidents in that same neighborhood.

About 15 armed men reportedly traveling in 2 vehicles attacked the Gala hotel and a bar and set fire to the premises.

Handwritten signs found at the scene suggest that the shooting is attributed to a rivalry between 2 drug cartels fighting for control of Guanajuato.

However, Mexican authorities are yet to issue a statement on who is responsible for this massacre.
