Dispute between neighbours ends in aggravated assault

By BBN Staff: Twenty-year-old Maskall Village resident, Jerome Reneau, was convicted of aggravated assault against his neighbour, Leo Madrill, in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today.

The dispute between the two men began back in December 2021, when Madrill told Reneau not to pass through his yard. Reneau reportedly continued to do so and an argument eventually ensued which police had to be called in to diffuse. The issue would arise again after Reneau passed through Madrill’s yard again, only when Madrill addressed it with him, Reneau pulled a machete on him and threatened him.
