Reese Fitzgibbon changes his not guilty plea for firearms charges to guilty; Sentenced to three years

By BBN Staff: Today, Belize City resident Reese Anthony Fitzgibbon changed his not guilty plea for a firearms charge he picked up almost five years ago, to a guilty plea.

Fitzgibbon was caught on Kut Avenue on November 3, 2017, with guns and ammunition that he had no license for.

In court, after Fitzgibbon saw the amount of evidence being brought against him, he decided to plead guilty to one count of keeping an unlicensed firearm, and one count of keeping unlicensed ammunition.

Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford sentenced him to three years for each offense to run concurrently, meaning Fitzgibbon will only need to spend a total of three years.
