An estimated 8000 Belizeans employed by BPO’s

By Zoila Palma Gonzales: Today, Prime Minister John Briceno hosted the first-ever Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) stakeholder meeting.

In a statement issued by the Government of Belize, it confirmed that about 8000 Belizeans are employed by BPOs within 27 companies.

Ranging from call centers, campaign and appointment setters, and file sorting, some BPOs offer starting bonuses, commissions, and a comfortable hourly rate.

The Government says that the BPO industry is considered a priority sector, which contributes significantly to the economy.

Government also said that it is committed to the growth of this export industry.
