Ministry of Health and Wellness: Daily new Covid-19 cases figure dips below 100

By Aaron Humes: For today at least, the gap between new cases of COVID-19 and recoveries was reduced.

76 new cases were reported against 49 new recoveries for a net increase of 27.

The number of active cases now stands at 1,057, with 286 samples under investigation. Belize will likely pass 59 thousand total confirmed cases by the end of the week.

Five persons are hospitalized and no new deaths were reported.

Belize City added 30 new cases; Ladyville, seven; and San Pedro Town, two.

San Ignacio/Santa Elena added six new cases of 12 in the Cayo District and Orange Walk Town three of eight in that district, while no new cases were reported in the Corozal District.

There were five new cases across the South, including two each in Punta Gorda Town and Independence, Stann Creek District.
