Belize to support programs for incentives for business, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism

By Aaron Humes: Cabinet has announced that certain policy and legislative amendments have been approved to stimulate and fast track private sector investment and further stimulate economic growth.

The Executive has insisted that rather than “hand-outs” to Belizeans, it wants to put more people to work and give businesses a chance to flourish in an increasingly competitive environment.

Investment incentives, reduction of turn-around time, and streamlining of processes will be tackled for the small business (MSME) enhancement program, the designated processing areas program used by BPOs, agro-processing, aquaculture, and manufacturing, and the fiscal incentives program used by tourism and other business ventures.

Belize is among the less-liked places to do business worldwide despite our attractions and natural benefits and the Government has aimed at changing that narrative.
