Ministry of Health and Wellness: 100 new cases of COVID-19 were reported countrywide today

By Aaron Humes: 100 new cases of COVID-19 were reported countrywide today against 58 new recoveries according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

This puts Belize’s total of active cases at 1,099 with 124 samples under investigation.

Belize is now at 59,049 total reported cases. Hospitalizations slid down to four in total and no new deaths continue to be reported.

Belize City accounted for 44 of 57 total cases in mainland Belize District, with a further nine in San Pedro Town.

Belmopan added 12 new cases (including one in Maya Mopan), with two each in San Ignacio Town and Benque Viejo Town.

There were eight new cases in the Orange Walk District, including four in Trial Farm village, but three combined in the Corozal, Stann Creek, and Toledo Districts.

The Ministry of Health has reminded Belizeans to protect themselves while traveling to and at the National Agriculture and Trade Show and elsewhere this weekend.
