National Agriculture and Trade Show officially opens today

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The official opening ceremony for the National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) will commence at 3 pm today in the capital city of Belmopan.

The event is being held from May 27 to 29, 2022 under the theme “Innovations in technology: Driving a Climate Resilient and Competitive Agriculture and Food Sector”.

Farmers from across the country will be onsite proudly displaying their crops and vegetable produce and livestock.

Many businesses from across Belize will also be there offering deals and sales on products and services.

The show officially commences at 4:15 pm today and gates will close at 8 pm.

On Saturday, the livestock competition will commence at 8:30 am followed by the arrival of the canoe race at 10:30 am.

The Farmer of the Year and Livestock award ceremony will be held on Saturday at 11 am followed by entertainment on the main stage and the Youth Rodeo championship at 1:30 pm.

On Sunday, May 29, the horse and cowboy parade will take place at 12:30 pm followed by the senior rodeo championship.
