By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center reports that as of this morning, Tropical Storm Agatha was located a couple of hundred miles southwest of Puerto Angel, Mexico.
Agatha is moving toward the north-northwest near 3 miles per hour.
A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Salina Cruz to Lagunas de Chacahua, Mexico.
On the forecast track, the center of Agatha will approach the southern coast of Mexico today and make landfall there on Monday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph and Agatha is expected to strengthen into a hurricane later today. Additional strengthening is anticipated up until landfall.
Forecasters say that Agatha could produce potentially life-threatening floods and mudslides.
