Belize Weather: Rain, rain, not going away

Moist and unstable weather conditions continue to dominate our weather…

The National Meteorological Service’s forecast calls for continuing mostly cloudy skies, along with a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms around the country. More rain and a few thunderstorms can be expected offshore today. Then, for tonight, a further increase in showers, rain, and thunderstorms is expected over the country, especially in southern and coastal areas.

High temperatures are 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 86 degrees in inland areas and 76 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 73 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to 15 knots and gusty. The sea will be moderate to rough with waves of four to seven feet.

A flood watch remains in effect for the possibility of localized flooding over low-lying and flood prone areas across the country.

A small craft caution remains in effect for gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers or thunderstorms.

Tides will be high at 8:27 this morning and 10:23 this evening and low at 4:13 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:22 this evening and rises at 5:17 on Monday.

A few showers, periods of rain and thunderstorms will develop around the country on Monday before an increase to have several outbreaks during Monday night.
