Cayo man shot and killed during visit to sister’s residence

By Aaron Humes: 38-year-old Ranulfo Alvarez of Cotton Tree, Cayo District, was fatally shot on Saturday night.

According to police, around 9 p.m. Alvarez went to visit his sister at her house but she was not at home since she was at church, and whilst leaving from his sister’s residence about 4 shots were heard. As a result, other family members rushed over to the sister’s house to make checks and found the victim bleeding and immediately rushed him to the hospital.

He was subsequently transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City where he died overnight. Police are investigating.
